I’ve recently been trying to lose fat and gain muscle. That means no more fast food with tremendous amounts of fat content and other sweeteners and only healthy food that does not contain much oils and fat.
For a busy guy who does not have much time to cook, this steamer seemed perfect, as the advertisement claims.
This steam gourmet is able to make very healthy meals in at most around 20 minutes. And even some delicious low fat food recipes from this steamer cookbook.
However, it does miss some of points for some minor details.
In summary, The Steam Gourmet Review goes like this:
It can cook a lot of healthy stuff that every skinny guy needs to gain muscle without the fat, including poached eggs without oil, steamed chicken, fish, salmon, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and so much more. And it does so in just a few minutes.
It does however need to be cleaned every time you cook something. It’s not as hard as cleaning a frying pan filled with chunks of burned food, but it does require a bit of effort nonetheless.
It does not have a safety feature that prevents it from steaming if you forget to put water in it. So, one time, I almost fried the steam gourmet when I forgot to place water while poaching some eggs. Fortunately it was sturdy enough not to have self destructed before I noticed.
If you live somewhere that is free of nuclear power plants, say for example, in the Philippines, electricity bills are higher than countries with nuclear power plants. Since this electric steamer consumes 400W, it does add a tiny bit to the electric bill. Enough for me to feel it just this month’s payment.
For something made in China that is only very simple, the price of this appliance is fairly high and the markup is quite substantial, but for the utility and the effort they’ve made to market and present this appliance, I guess it’s just about worth it.
With it’s timer and easy to wash parts, it’s going to be easy for any busy skinny person to cook his own meal without any hassle. Although it’s lacking a safety feature and consumes a bit of electricity, it’s still a worthy appliance to consider, if you’re after healthy home cooked meals to get to that six pack.
